The Zimbini Sinina Story.
A few short months ago, CompariSure embarked on a mission to create a competition that would resonate with people everywhere, a competition that would make a lasting difference to the winner’s life. Instead of giving away a smartphone, a holiday, or any other run of the mill prize, we spoke to the public and posed one question, “What would you do if you had an extra R20 000 right now?” The most common reply was, “Invest in my child’s education.” So, we listened, and the competition prize became just that, “R20 000 towards your child’s education.”
As social media began to rupture with buzz of the competition, the field was set. But one echo seemed to flow from the lips of all, regardless of background, circumstance or cultural differences, and that was, “I want the best for my children”
Fast forward to 15 December 2018, 10am. The live Facebook Winner Reveal is about to start. CEO Jonathan Elcock hits the onscreen Start Button which begins to randomly tumble through all the competition entrants’ names. A hush fills the room as the tumbler comes to a slow halt. “And our Winner is…Zimbini Sinina!”
Excited to give Zimbini the good news, Jonathan tries every 15 minutes to reach Zimbini, but to no avail. Then finally, contact is made and Zimbini couldn’t be happier to receive such great news.
Zimbini: “I am so happy! I can’t believe it!”
Jonathan: “Congrats again Zimbini, we at CompariSure are proud to have made this happen. If you don’t mind, we’d like to know a little bit more about you?”
Zimbini: “I am 29 years old. I got married when I was very young, I was 18 at the time, and I have four children now.”
Jonathan: “Wow, I have two kids of my own. I can only imagine how challenging having four children must be. How old are they?”
Zimbini: “Sisipho is 13 years old, Melokuhle 10, Somila 6, and my youngest, Yomelela is 14 months old now.”
Jonathan: “We all know parenting is tough, but everyone’s situation is unique. What are some of the challenges you face as a parent?”
Zimbini: “As a working mom, working as a Police Officer at SAPS, has its own challenges. Being a young parent isn’t easy at all. Especially the financial struggle of paying school fees, not to mention buying stationary, uniforms and transport for my children to and from school.”
Jonathan: “I can imagine how difficult it must be for you. What are some of your hopes and dreams you have for your children and their future?”
Zimbini: “When I was young, my biggest dream was to be educated, to finish my studies. Unfortunately I didn't finish my electrical engineering studies because of financial crisis. I don’t want them to experience the same. That’s why I am working very hard to make sure that they are going to school. I want them to be happy. Happiness comes with financial freedom. Financial freedom comes with working hard. And this comes with having a good job. And a good job comes with having good education. The best thing about being a parent is being able to work hard for my children, so that they can do well in life, and see a role model in me. I love them so much. They are my life!”
Jonathan: “Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk to us Zimbini. We wish you all the best, congratulations once again on being our R20 000 education policy winner. You will forevermore be a part of the CompariSure family.”
Given the success of this competition and how well it was received, CompariSure will be looking to launch another Education Competition in January 2019, but this time we are going to give even more away.
Stay tuned and watch this space!
